If you're visiting Wakayama City, this hotel is quite convenient. It's much more bustling than Wakayama Station, and it's close to the library, Tsutaya Bookstore, a local supermarket, and a drugstore. The Nankai Railway is also very convenient for getting around and cheaper than taking the bus.
Thanks to the previous reviews, I learned that the hotel is located just off the main exit of Nankai Railway Station, turning left onto the main road. Enter the door between Taiga Securities and Starbucks.
If you're just transferring, the location near Wakayama Station is a good choice.
I was also very satisfied with the breakfast here; it was much more extensive than the previous one. The river view was pleasant, and I watched the rowers training early in the morning.
The rooftop open-air bath was also comfortable. It wasn't large, but the open-air air was not oppressive.
We booked two rooms for three people. Although there was a sofa, we still booked according to the number of people. The price of the two rooms was similar to the price of a triple room we had previously booked at another hotel.

The location is acceptable. From Osaka Airport, you can take the Nankai Express directly to Wakayama City Station. The hotel is located above the station. You can also take the JR train, which runs downstairs, albeit on a slower route. There's a Starbucks, 7-Eleven, and Matsumoto Kiyoshi downstairs, and there are also plenty of dining options on the second floor.
But be aware that the hotel is quite small. When they say they offer extra beds, they're actually referring to the narrow, 0.8-meter-wide sofa next to the window. The hotel provides sheets and pillows for you to put on top.
We stayed on the 10th floor, and the plumbing wasn't working properly. It was the first time I'd encountered this. The bathtub started foaming while I was washing my hands. It was incredibly dirty. However, it's reassuring to contact Ctrip whenever I have any questions, which is why I always book with them!

Ultra convenient! A cozy haven directly connected to the station, the perfect starting point for exploring Wakayama! The location is incredible!
🚉 Incredibly convenient: The hotel is located right in the Nankai Wakayamashi Station building! Just above the exit gate, you'll see the hotel entrance sign, and the elevator goes directly to the front desk. Whether you're taking the Nankai Electric Railway direct from Kansai Airport (highly recommended!), heading to Osaka, other parts of Kansai, or exploring Wakayama's attractions, it's incredibly convenient! Especially with heavy luggage or on rainy days, this direct connection to the station is a lifesaver!
📍 Central location: *Nankai Wakayamashi Station is just downstairs, and JR Wakayama Station is also within a 10-minute walk. There are plenty of convenience stores and restaurants nearby, making daily necessities incredibly convenient. It's the perfect base for exploring Wakayama Prefecture, such as visiting the Kumano Kodo, Shirahama, and seeing the cats at Kishi Station!
🛏️ Comfortable sleep: CANDEO's consistent high-quality bedding didn't disappoint! The mattress was just the right firmness, the pillows were supportive, and the soundproofing was excellent, making it a great way to quickly recover after a day of activity.
♨️ The large rooftop bath: A bonus! While not large, it was clean and comfortable. After a day of sightseeing, a hot bath was perfect for relaxing while overlooking the night view of Wakayama City (on a clear day). Basic toiletries were provided.
🛋️ Room amenities: Typical Japanese business hotel style, with well-utilized space (a bit more spacious than expected). Amenities were complete and clean: an air purifier/humidifier, refrigerator, safe, HDTV, electric kettle, and more. The free WiFi was fast and stable.
💁 Excellent service: The front desk staff spoke English fluently and were professional and friendly. Check-in and check-out were efficient. Free coffee and iced water were provided in the lobby, a very thoughtful touch.
